Privacy Policy

We are a small family shop, and we treat your information the way we would want ours treated. We collect only what we need, we do not sell it, and here is exactly what that looks like. This is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.

Browsing the site

You do not need an account to browse fishwithsweets.com. If you are just looking around, we are not collecting personal details about you beyond the basic, aggregate analytics described below.

If you contact us

If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your name, email address, and message, so we can reply and help you.

If you place an order

When you buy from us, our Shopify-powered checkout collects the information needed to process and ship your order: your name, shipping and billing address, email address, and phone number if you provide one, along with the details of what you ordered. Payment card information is handled directly by Shopify's payment processing and is never something we see or store; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded. We share your shipping address with USPS, UPS, FedEx or whichever shipping provider carries your order so they can deliver it to you.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful, so we can make the site better. This data is aggregate, and we never sell it. We honor your browser's Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out.

Your privacy choices

Use the Your Privacy Choices link in our footer to open the analytics controls and turn measurement on or off. In the US, analytics is on by default and you may opt out at any time. In the EU, EEA, and UK, we ask you to opt in first.

Who we share information with

We share your information only with the providers who help us run the shop, and only so they can do their job: Shopify, which powers our store, checkout, and payments; USPS, UPS, or FedEx, which needs your address to deliver your order; and Google Analytics for aggregate site measurement. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. These providers handle your data under their own privacy terms.

How long we keep it

We keep order and contact information as long as we need it to run the business and meet tax and record-keeping obligations, then we dispose of it. Email us if you would like your information removed sooner and we will help where the law allows.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and opt out of analytics at any time. Depending on where you live, such as California, you may have additional rights, including the right to know and to delete, and the right not to be treated differently for exercising them. Children

Our store and products are meant for adults. We do not direct our site to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has given us information and we will delete it.

Security

We rely on Shopify's secure, PCI-compliant checkout to protect payment and personal data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
